He did not know he was an American citizen until he was 18 years old and found his birth certificate. At that point he contacted his biological father and came back to America on a cargo ship.
He attended schools in England, Hong Kong and West Linn.
He was active in the Boy Scouts and was an Eagle Scout and received the Silver Beaver award for adults.
He served in the Navy in World War II and in the Korean War.
He was the manager of the shoe department at J.C. Penney for many years and owned and operated Milln’s Casual Clothing in West Linn.
Survivors include his wife, Lydia Mendiola Milln; daughters, Joanne Jardee and Jill McNeilly; son, Allan; and 16 grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Dec. 11, 2008, in St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Portland.

Don Page died on Dec. 11, 2008, at age 85.
He was born on Aug. 7, 1923, in Portland, where he lived all his life. He was a Lt. Commander in the Navy and served in World War II and the Korean War.
He was a retired pilot who had been employed by numerous companies to fight forest fires in the United States and abroad.
He is survived by: daughters, Janice Cashell, Carol Gignoux, Nina Bisson and Sarah Page; son, Wade Page; and four grandchildren.

Ronald Alfred Stangfield died on Dec. 7, 2008, at age 61.
He was born on Dec. 16, 1946, in Prineville, and moved to the metro area in 1960. He grew up in Milwaukie/Oak Grove, graduated from Milwaukie High School and served in the Army during the Vietnam War.
He had been employed as a welder.
Survivors include: sons, Shane and Cody Strangfield; brother, Dean Strangfield; and two grandchildren.
A graveside funeral service was held on Dec. 12, 2008, at Willamette National Cemetery.
Remembrances may be sent to the VA Medical Center.

Herbert Wipfler
May 4, 1923-Dec. 4, 2008
Herbert Wipfler died on Dec. 4, 2008, at age 85, of congestive heart failure.
He was born on May 4, 1923, in Schollbrunn, Germany, and lived in New Jersey before moving to the Portland area in 1975.
He served in the Air Force during World War II.
He had been employed as a tool and die maker for Omark Industries (Blount, Inc.).
He is survived by: wife, Mata Wipfler; daughter, Lori Pederson; son, Steven Wipfler; and three grandchildren.
A gathering of friends and family was held on Dec. 14, 2008, at the Hope Village Community Center in Canby.
Arrangements: Crown Memorial Center-Milwaukie.
July 3, 1970-Dec. 11, 2008
Gladstone resident Tracey Anne Zivney died on Dec. 11, 2008, at age 38. The cause of death was cancer.
She was born Tracey Anne Mobley on July 3, 1970, in Portland, and lived most of her life in Oregon City, graduating from Oregon City High School in 1988.
She had been employed as an operations manager for Proturn.
She is survived by: husband, Jamie Zivney; daughter, Nicole Maupin; sons, Killian and Hunter Zivney; parents, Linda and Steven Mobley; and sister, Dawn Stanchfield.
Her 23-month-old son, Alex Maupin, preceded her in death.
A memorial service was held on Dec. 16, 2008, at St. Phillip Benizi Church.
Remembrances may be sent to Willamette Falls Hospice.
