Leaders of the Legislature’s budget-writing committee will take their show on the road this month, hosting eight public hearings around the state.
State Sen. Margaret Carter and Rep. Peter Buckley, who lead the Legislature’s Joint Committee on Ways and Means, said they will hold hearings the last two weeks of April in Lincoln City, Pendleton, Ontario, Portland, Bend, Eugene, Salem and Ashland. A hearing at the State Capitol will include people from Hood River who will be able to participate via video conferencing.
Members of the committee will also stop in Klamath Falls during their drive from the Bend hearing on April 29 on their way to Jackson County the following day. While there, they intend to fan out across Klamath Falls and meet with citizens.
